Saturday July 13th, 2013 at the Las Vegas Elvis Fest in the LVH
PART 1: Almost 6 decades ago, Elvis Rocked Las Vegas for the very first time at the New Frontier Hotel and Casino. He was billed as the 'Atomic Singer'. Cody Ray Slaughter, the youngest man ever to be named the Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist by EPE will recreate all the electrifying magic of Elvis' first appearance in Las Vegas along with the man who was there in 1956, Elvis’ original drummer and Rock N Roll Hall of Famer, DJ Fontana. Cody is the same age Elvis was when he 1st came to Las Vegas.
PART 2: From 1969 to 1976, Elvis became synonymous with Las Vegas by performing 837 sold out shows in the showroom at the International Hilton. Elvis’ performances there were the subject of the documentary film and live album “Elvis, That’s The Way It Is”. The show continues with one of the highlights of the Las Vegas Elvis Fest celebrating those historic performances portrayed in the Elvis documentary, with part two of the concert entitled 'Elvis: That’s The Way It Was’ Then and Now. This part of the show will include much of the same cast such as, Joe Moscheo of Elvis’ Imperials, the Sweet Inspirations, comedian Sammy Shore and new this year, The Blackwood Quartet and many more special guests. Joe Esposito, Elvis’ closest friend, will host the events. Shawn Klush, Graceland’s 1st Ever Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist and the BBC’s ‘World’s Greatest Elvis’, will bring the Music, the Magic, the Memories and especially the Heart of the King back to the very same show room where Elvis himself made history.
